My 11 mates for a good (mind) training

What is training in storytelling?

I will go through this topic leveraging on Ocean's Eleven by Soderberg.

For anyone who wants to look beneath its action surface, this film proves that a movie can be a huge hit because of the theme, not in spite of it. When Ocean's Eleven was released the acceptance was good and the cast was a lineup of stars: George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia, to name the greatest.

Just to be on the same page: Danny Ocean, on parole for good behaviour, reunite the old team for the biggest plan ever imagined.

The longest part of the movie is the progressive revelation of the plan,

followed by some technical information to succeed

at a huge hit at the Bellagio, in Las Vegas.

A full research about the building, how to access the safe and how bring the money out of the casino without being stopped. The story can be separated in those key moments: training, put the plan in action, face and solve problems along the way and than the climax at the end.

You can share the same excitement about getting trained along the whole film.

That's why I've decided to live my life in the same way: always looking for a big occasion in my life and, as soon as it become possible, training to reach my opportunity. So basically my training is constant research which I pursue by reading, watching ("binge-watching is my cardio" - sorry, Sex and the City lovers!) and visiting.

Every time I step into a book store I end up with a bag full of books

and graphic novels. I started a collection of my favourite bookshops

around the world to sustain my cause.

I have book every where in my house: in the studio, on the sofa, in the kitchen, in my bathroom, on both side of the bed.

And as Danny Ocean, I need too a team of 11 on my side. Do you want to know my 11 preferred books?
